Support Ontario Youth's Tools in the Trades Boot Camp is a Success in Cobourg
On November 9, 2021, Support Ontario Youth's Tools in the Trades Boot Camp took place in Cobourg, Ontario. The day turned out to be a fantastic learning experience, and every student had a great day – even those who discovered that the electrician pathway was not the best fit for them. Students were engaged with both the Employability Skills and the Hands-On halves of the day, working well with their teams and asking questions along the way. The team worked hard to include everyone, ensuring that they had the information needed to be successful with each task. The tools were the icing on the cake, and students opened their boxes like kids at Christmas, in disbelief that they got to keep the tools. Best of all, the pride on their faces when they put on the belts was heart-warming and inspiring, and they were instantly transformed into apprentices as they buckled them up.
