    Program Overview:
    This program consists of a comprehensive in - class theory program covering Isolation of Hazardous Energy. 
    Participants will have the opportunity to handle an assortment of lockout devices and components while learning how to safety and effectively apply them to prevent accidents and damage caused by the unexpected movement of machinery and equipment due to the release of hazardous energy.

    WHMIS

    Program Overview:
    The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is a Canada-wide system designed to give employers and workers information about hazardous materials used in the workplace. The original WHMIS 1988 was updated in 2015. WHMIS 2015 is based on the Global Harmonized System (GHS) and uses pictograms, labelling and safety data sheets that are significantly different from the original WHMIS of 1988. WHMIS was founded on a worker’s right to know what hazards they [you] are working with in the workplace! Education is fundamental to WHMIS – workers need training on a regular basis.

    June 22 - Emergency First Aid / CPR
    Program Overview:
    Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.
     
     
    Training Content:
    • Preparing to respond
    • The EMS system
    • Check, Call, Care
    • Airway emergencies
    • Breathing and circulation emergencies
    • First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
    • Wound care
    • Includes any other content required by specific legislation
    Certification: 3-year certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR level A, C, or HCP and AED
    Recertification: Where provincial/territorial legislation allows; 5–6 hours; includes CPR Level A, C, or
     HCP
