March 25, 2021 (Toronto, ON) – The Ontario Electrical League (OEL) welcomes the newly-announced 2021 Budget and its aim to continue modernizing and evolving the skilled trades and apprenticeship system.

“Yesterday’s 2021 Budget laid out resources that will help us move beyond COVID-19 and help fuel our economic recovery,” said Stephen Sell, OEL president.

“Investments in infrastructure and the skilled trades are important if we are to rebound from the impacts of this pandemic. The construction sector is a vital participant in helping our economy grow.”

The investments in yesterday’s Budget, such as the Skilled Trades Strategy – as well as those dedicated towards infrastructure – reinforces with the Ontario Electrical League that this government understands the importance of the skilled trades and the construction sector in our economy.

The Ontario Electrical League, along with its members, extends support for the Budget and is dedicated to helping in the success of the budgetary investments as willing partners.
