First eBuses with ABB flash-charge tech go into service
Two articulated electric buses sporting ABB’s 20-second flash-charging technology, TOSA, went into service today on Line 23 in Geneva, Switzerland.
It takes less than a second to connect the eBus to the charging point on an overhead high-power contact; as it pulls into selected stops, the eBus tops up its batteries while passengers embark and disembark.
The eBuses are 18.75-m long and can carry 133 passengers; 13 out of 50 stops feature
TOSA flash-charging stations.
The complete fleet of 12 emission-free eBuses links the airport with the city’s suburbs.
