Dealing with the Dangers. Distracted Driving.

You’re a good driver, so why should you care about distracted driving? The reality is that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to leave handheld devices out of view, whether you’re sitting at your desk or in the driver’s seat.
In this webinar, you will learn about the importance of attentive driving and will be able to understand better how vision works while driving, and how to recognize hazards in advance.
The session will cover the difference between peripheral and acute vision and how a driver can actively identify all potential hazards while driving.
Tips on how to avoid being distracted while driving to reduce crash frequency will also be explained.
PRESENTER: Ron Harris, Senior Risk Services Trainer
Ron started his career in the transportation industry over 30 years ago, during this time he was a graduate of the Markel Professional Truck Training school where he obtained his AZ licence. After graduation Ron went on to drive for some of Canada’s large transportation companies before coming back to Northbridge in August of 2003 where he took on the role of instructor for the Northbridge AZ training program. Ron has now progressed to the level of Senior Trainer and although the AZ training program is no longer offered, Ron is kept busy facilitating our premier defensive driving course, FACTS. This course among the many others that Northbridge provides are the mainstay of Ron’s workload. Ron is a holder of the NATMI (North American Transportation Management Institute) CDT (Certified Driver Trainer) certification and is well respected throughout the industry for his knowledge and expertise in the transportation world.
